I have always loved the way Forrest Gump looked at life, with such simplicity and honesty. This is the way that many people in Capernaum see life and a way that I subscribe to.

The whole notion of luck versus a blessing is an interesting one, and one ripe with controversy and debate. Why not weigh in!

A 1980 graduate from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA in Communications Arts and Design, John also did graduate work at GWU. In 2005 John became the Hampton Roads Area Director for Young Life Capernaum, a ministry dedicated to helping children with disabilities. John published Bipolar by Koehler http://www.bpbk.com/ in 2005, and just published Benjamin, The Road to Capernaum http://www.benjaminroad.com/ He is the 1991 Boomerang World Champion, and the coach of the 2002 World Champion US Boomerang Team. He was also a member of the Foster's Boomerang 2000 Team. John is also a proud member of the Bürpenfärtzen Brothers, as well as The Noblemen, a philanthropic group. Married since 1982 to his college sweetheart, Patty, an art teacher at Old Donation Center for the Gifted and Talented, John is the proud father of Kim and Danielle. Both are honor roll students and excellent artists. Favorite question: If you were walking along and met God, and you could ask him just one question, what would you ask him?
